The Dayspring Chorale has been adventuring around England for four days now and it's been such a busy adventure we haven't had a chance to locate an Internet cafe until now.
Yesterday the Chorale kicked off their performance schedule by joining worship at Hinde Street Methodist Church in Marleybone, a neighborhood on the north side of London's West End. Our group nearly doubled the size of the friendly and diverse congregration. The Chorale performed songs for the introit, during Communion and to close the service. Afterward we had a chance to mingle with the congregation, including a friendly lady (Alice) whose cat, Tailer, attends the morning service stretched across Alice's shoulders!
After a weekend full of adventures like high tea at Harrods, seeing the city from atop the London Eye, and a broad sampling of West End theater performances, the group is headed up through northern England this week. Today's destination is York, with a stop in Ely to perform at the lovely Ely Cathedral.
Pictures from the church service will be posted when I can find an Internet cafe letting me connect my camera. Stay tuned for more updates!
